Just have to share! I got the biggest laugh yesterday when I stumbled across an old notebook with several pages of written words/phrases/what-have-yous...tucked away in a drawer.
It took me back to the time when I was trying to come up with the title for my first book - I remember looking at all of my designs and thinking okay what are the ties that bind my designs together? Twigs? Birdhouses? Vines? The "country" theme was popular then, as were birdhouses - I was obsessed with birdhouses, LOL. My desire for them has waned a wee bit, but I still love to incorporate them into a design now and then...and you will find numerous ones in/around my home!
I scanned the pages of the notebook and will share them with you...just so you can see the thought process that went into my finally landing on "Between the Vines" - too funny! LOL At the time that I wrote my first book, I (and Flo) also opened up a little gift/tole shop here in Myrtle Creek (Treasures of the Heart) - seems like ages ago! When I got too busy with books, travel, etc. we sold the shop to a wonderful gal, Belinda, she has just thrived with our baby.
Hmmm...I kind of like "Tweet Street" now that I see it again...kind of cute. :)
Seem to be stuck on twigs....timeless, trailing, sunshine...huh???
Twig and Thyme...lol...definitely stuck here on those words...
Okay...maybe I thought the word Country should be in there somewhere...<ya think?> lol See the appointments I had scheduled in the entry below? Too funny....
There you have it!! You know have some insight into my brain's decision making process. LOL
Note the last entry on the last page....Between the Vines. It had a good ring to it and I thought it was appropriate for me, as I had vines twining in and around all of my designs...hmmm...so now you know how I initially came up with the title of my book series! Little did I know, at that time, that I would go on to publish 9 (working on 10!) in that series and several Christmastime BTV series...who would have guessed? Not me! I put so much of myself into that first book, that I thought - "I am done". LOL I thought: "There is no way that I can think of another design." Glad that I dug in to the recesses of my soul and pulled out the next, 'cause after that...they were a breeze. *wink, wink*
I got a good laugh out of this....I could not believe that I still had the notebook with this in it! I will try to dig out some old photos of our shop (Treasures of the Heart) and post it some time too...trippin' the past!
Happy Valentine's Day to all!
