Well, if the rain would ever stop...and the sun stay out long enough for us to dry out...I would say yes! (Can you see the rain coming down in this photo, it is raining like mad!) It seems like it has been a very rainy Spring...and I am happy that June is very nearly here.
It seems like forever since I have blogged...sorry about that. Life happens and so goes the blog! I know I promised more photos of our time in Italy - but there are SOOO many to go through (and I was kind of waiting on Miss Flo to get some up so we wouldn't do duplicates, but she has been busy trying to get her new 'Fotos by Flo 'blog set up, that she has had no time! Yes, blame it on Flo...hahaha! lol). I did share them on my Facebook pages.. you can see the photo-log of our days in Italy there if you like.
Because I am not doing much in the way of travel teaching for a while (family reasons), I thought I might try to bring back seminars here in Oregon. I know Fall is not the first choice for many of you (hopefully we can bring back Summertime seminars too, just not sure yet!)...we have hopes that these will work out. It is all set up now...and I am very excited to share 2 special designs with you - I had so much fun designing and painting these! Here is a peek at the panels we will paint at the seminar - these are close-ups of the Fall and Winter panels...
They are painted on a neat new surface, the panels will slide into place; with each base holding 2 seasons...and the layered window frame and vine embellishments turned out very cool! (It is nice when what you are envisioning translates well into what you are painting! lol) I wanted the frame to look like it was aging...and the plaster to look like it was peeling and cracking like some of the old buildings we saw in Italy. I wanted it to look like we were peeking through an arched window, out at the vista beyond...dreamily reminiscent of what we saw in Tuscany.
Each of the panels will have a similar scene, but with different elements (although a pillow with a flower on it will be consistent throughout; also a roly-poly character!) Each will have a dimensional arched window and a vine embellishment...and I have not decided yet if I am going to create a new vine for each season...we shall see...I have soooo many ideas!
Coming up this month - I can't wait to share sneak peeks of Between the Vines 10...it is coming along nicely and I am excited at the new designs and surfaces we have in it!!!
